The best word to describe MQC’s 26th Annual Poser Game is trippy.

During the game, Alexis Lacroix seemed absent-minded. He didn’t react when his name was called, and when he did skate, he often ignored the assigned trick—sometimes even proposing the same trick twice. Some people thought he was doing it on purpose, while others figured he just didn’t care about the game.

What no one knew at the time was that he was actually on a hallucinogen! That explains why his mindset was off—but still sharp enough to win the championship on his birthday.

What also made this year mind-blowing was the number of young skaters who entered. We saw how many of the original participants are now being replaced by a fearless new generation. These kids didn’t hesitate to go up against skaters like Zach Wilkins, Wes McNeal, and Aslane Bilouzova.

As the game unfolded, it came down to Glencoe Hogle, Wes McNeal, and Alexis—who ultimately took the victory.

Nostalgia might make us believe there were more skaters in the past, but in reality, participation keeps growing. The vibe is stronger than ever, leaving us already looking forward to next year.
